1819 Choices Fighting For Precedence!
We often find that once our guests arrive, they’re in no hurry to leave and will happily spend their entire break in their room, in the spa, the gym, the bar and the restaurants. However, if you can bear to tear yourself away from this 4 star gorgeousness for a while, there’s lots to enjoy in the immediate vicinity (we wouldn’t want to send you too far afield in case you get withdrawal symptoms).
The Midland Hotel's location in the centre of the city gives you easy access to some of the best shopping, theatre, music and nightlife in the country. Manchester’s pretty compact so you’ll be able to walk to most places (lucky if you’ve had a few Cosmopolitans). Most places are easy to get to on the tram, rail and bus networks which are soon to be even more comprehensive with the Future transport initiative.
Manchester has more theatres than anywhere in the UK outside London, fine art galleries such as the nearby City Art Gallery, and excellent museums that pay homage to Manchester's industrial past.
But everyone knows Manchester for football - and some famous footballer’s wives. Even if you don’t aspire to be a WAG, you’ll be pretty bowled over by the shopping. Selfridges and Harvey Nics are within easy striking distance, as are the cool record shops and boutiques of the Northern Quarter.
If you want to get out of the city, not far away are as many charming Cheshire villages, national trust properties, garden centres, country pubs, restaurants, botanic gardens, horse racing courses, parks, woodland and hill top walks as you could wish for.
You might not have time to fit all of that little lot in, but then you do have the perfect excuse to come back again. Soon.
