Coming to Tankersley Manor is a little like stepping back in time. Not because we’re behind the times, or old fashioned, we’re far from it. But because we’ve tried very hard to capture the essence of a simpler time, before deadlines and overtime and the non-stop go go go of society.
Amidst our York stone walls and wooded grounds, the pressures of life recede, the hours seem to tick by a little slower, shoulders relax down and time can be savoured.
The setting certainly helps; Tankersley Manor began life as a 17th century manor house that surpasses itself on the quaintness and charm front, with its stone windowsills and original oak beams. Our award winning grounds are the epitome of a countryside idyll and the spectacular scenery of the Peaks and the Dales that waits on the doorstep is equally stunning. Our rooms are little havens of loveliness tucked into the original manor and a sensitively designed extension.
But the thing that really takes you out of the day to day and puts you in a different time zone is our hospitality; something Yorkshire folk are very proud of (as well as those we’ve adopted from other counties and countries). Our laidback culture and welcoming attitude have a very calming effect, leaving you relaxed, full of smiles and ready to slow down and squeeze the most out of every minute here. If that doesn’t do it, then a trip to our spa certainly will. We just hope that, by slowing you down, we can give you the time of your life.
